Mackay + Jack's Elegant Candlelight Wedding at Ronald Reagan Building in DC

Mackay and Jack were married on November 5, 2022 in the heart of DC at the Ronald Reagan Building. This wedding was extra special for Uncloudy Studio because the bride and one of her bridesmaids are Uncloudy Studio assistants! We also got to spy on the wedding from above while waiting for the flip… The flowers were classic white and green with ranunculus, roses, garden roses and sweet peas with gardenia foliage. The ceremony was in front of the grand staircase which was covered in candlelight and accented with cascading orchid arrangements. The reception featured candles and greenery for centerpieces.

M+M's Blush and Blue Summer Peony Wedding at Decatur House DC

The historic Decatur House in Washington DC was the perfect venue for Michelle and Michael's romantic June wedding. The ceremony was held in the outdoor courtyard surrounded by the landscaped gardens in bloom. The color story was dusty blue, blush pink, creamy white and soft grey with lots of lush textural flowers. Michelle's bouquet was an abundant mix of peonies, garden roses, hydrangea, spray roses, lisianthus, delphinium, ranunculus and dusty miller. Her eight bridesmaids wore blush metallic gowns and carried open pale pink peonies surrounded by dusty miller and tied with metallic gold ribbon. Michael wore a blush pink garden rose with a touch of hydrangea, delphinium and dusty miller. The groomsmen wore a single garden rose. The couple exchanged vows on the brick courtyard framed to two arrangements in sandstone urns. Cocktail hour was held indoors with tiny arrangements and candles accenting the cocktail tables. Guests dined in the courtyard at round tables covered in white linens with silver chargers and accents and low centerpieces in glass bowls and footed compotes filled with lush romantic blooms to match the bride's bouquet.

I loved working with this couple and the amazing group of vendors! Check out the lovely review from the bride and the vendor list below:

"We had the pleasure of working with Jolie Joswick of Uncloudy Studio for the flowers for our wedding on 6/4/16. From the very beginning, Jolie was wonderful and we could tell that she was going to make our wedding beautiful. She did not disappoint. The flowers were beyond what we ever could have expected. (Honestly, numerous people told us they could not believe how gorgeous the florals were!!) We appreciate Jolie, her creativity and excellent taste so very much. You helped to make our day spectacular! Future brides and grooms, you will not be disappointed if you choose an Uncloudy Studio for your wedding, we can guarantee it!"

Lovely Lilac, Lavender and Peony May Wedding in Washington DC

Uncloudy Studio was only a small part of Caitlin and Paul's lavender-filled wedding this May in Washington DC but the bride was so amazing, and so were these photos, that I just had to share! Caitlin was a DIY bride and provided all the flowers (with the help of family and friends) but called me in to design her bridal bouquet and altar arrangement. The floral theme was lots and lots of fresh lavender which was incorporated into the design of the bouquet and large-scale arrangement. Caitlin's bouquet was a lovely, lush mix of purples and white with fresh local lilacs, lavender, peonies, ranunculus and double tulips. The altar piece, which was displayed during the ceremony and repurposed at the reception, included the same flowers with the addition of coral charm peonies, larkspur, stock, hydrangea and curly willow.

Enjoy the photos and check out this glowing review from the bride!

Sam and Steve's Orange and Gold Autumn Wedding at the Carnegie Library in DC

I've said it before and now I'm saying it again: I have the best clients! When Sam and I met we immediately clicked and I knew we would have a great time working together. Her vision was "I really like orange and gold" and "rich, old people's stuff" and from that we created elegant personal flowers and eclectic table centerpieces that combined flowers in warm tones of orange, red, gold and green in gold mercury glass vessels of varying sizes and shapes along with vintage books, birds and library cards as table numbers. Sam's bouquet was designed using orange "Sunset" garden roses and her bridesmaid carried golden orange dahlias against a gorgeous navy dress. The boutonnieres were a mix of roses, dahlias and mokara orchids - each one different from the next - and the three little flower girls looked adorable with their floral crowns and nosegays. The ceremony flowers were designed in tall gold vases with orange snapdragons, garden roses, orchids, dahlias and wax flower and they were repurposed for the reception.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of this fall wedding in Washington, DC! Please enjoy the photos from Michael Bonfigli Photography.
