Mackay + Jack's Elegant Candlelight Wedding at Ronald Reagan Building in DC

Mackay and Jack were married on November 5, 2022 in the heart of DC at the Ronald Reagan Building. This wedding was extra special for Uncloudy Studio because the bride and one of her bridesmaids are Uncloudy Studio assistants! We also got to spy on the wedding from above while waiting for the flip… The flowers were classic white and green with ranunculus, roses, garden roses and sweet peas with gardenia foliage. The ceremony was in front of the grand staircase which was covered in candlelight and accented with cascading orchid arrangements. The reception featured candles and greenery for centerpieces.

Dani + Matt's Romantic Outdoor Wedding at River Farm in VA

Dani and Matt were married on September 24, 2022 at the beautiful River Farm in Virgina. The flowers were soft neutral shades of white, blush and pale peach with garden roses, ranunculus, Cafe Au Lait dahlias and zinnias grown my Dani’s dad and picked the day before the wedding. The ceremony was on the front lawn in front of the mansion under our copper arch covered in greenery and flowers. The reception was held under the lights in the tent with blue and white bud vases, candles and flowers for centerpieces. The escort card table was filled with oversized recycled glass bottles and more zinnias from Dad!

Kelli + Dara's Modern White Wedding at Le Meridien Hotel in VA

Uncloudy Studio had the pleasure of designing the flowers for Kelli and Dara's wedding in May at Le Meridien Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. They are a super sweet couple and had modern vision of their wedding with a clean color palette of white and navy with silver accents. Their wedding ceremony was held outside on the terrace at Le Meridien with simple navy ribbons tied on the aisle chairs and clouds of baby's breath in sleek white ceramic vases to accent the altar. Kelli's bouquet was a romantic mix of all white with pops of silvery grey including anemones, peonies, ranunuculs, tulips, dusty miller and brunia. Dara's boutonniere complimented the bridal bouquet with a single anemone, dusty miller and brunia. The reception was held inside with stunning floor to ceiling windows and long white marble tables with navy runners. Each table had multiple arrangements of a single variety of white flowers (roses, peonies, rununculus, hydrangea and tulips) in a silver glass cube. The overall look was chic, clean and modernly romantic.

Enjoy the photos and check out this lovely note from the bride:

"THANK YOU!! Dara and I were so happy with all the flowers and we received many compliments on how beautiful everything looked. Thank you for all you help with making our wedding day absolutely beautiful!   Kelli"

Alison + Joel's Winter Wonderland White Wedding in Historic Annapolis MD

On one of the snowiest days we had this past winter two of the sweetest people got married and it was magical!

Alison and Joel were married at the United States Naval Academy Chapel and celebrated at Governor Calvert House both in historic Annapolis, MD on February 21, 2015. The weather added a winter wonderland effect to the photos and was the perfect accent to their color palette of winter white, slate grey and dusty lavender. The gorgeous bride, Alison (I could gush all day about how sweet and kind and lovely she is! Serously.) carried a bridal bouquet of fluffy white hydrangea, romantic peonies, ruffly white ranunculus, delicate white spray roses and antique lavender roses. A variety of succulents were added to give this romantic and vintage-looking bouquet a modern touch while seeded eucalyptus, brunia and dusty miller gave the bouquet a hint of grey and a pop of texture. The bridesmaids (all 8 of them!) wore long slate grey dresses with matching fur stoles and carried miniature versions of the bridal bouquet sans the succulents. This was a military wedding so only a few of the men wore boutonnieres which were designed with a single tiny succulent, dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus and a ranunculus bloom wrapped in slate ribbon.

Dinner for the reception at Governor Calvert House was held in a transformed ballroom with white draped walls and romantic chandeliers overhead two extra long tables for the guests. Each table had a runner of seeded and willow eucalyptus garland with long, low and lush centerpieces of all white flowers including hydrangea, roses, peonies and wax flower accented with dusty miller and brunia.

Enjoy the photos from the bride's very talented friends, Kat Herrera and Rylan Tuohy along with a few from yours truly!

Grooms + Garlands + Gold = Gorgeous Wedding at Josephine Butler Parks Center in Washington DC

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Anthony and Darius last fall for their October wedding at Josephine Butler Parks Center in DC. They had a very chic and understated vision for their flowers - simple, white with gold accents and lots of garlands for the mantels. They also wanted to keep costs down which we were able to do by keeping the flowers simple and using them in the ceremony and the reception and focusing on foliage only for the large areas. For the flowers we focused on classic mini calla lilies, fluffy hydrangea and elegant dendrobium orchids with touches of gold ribbon. To add warmth to the large rooms we placed garlands of foliage on all the mantels in the venue designed with Italian ruscus and plumosa fern. The mantel that provided as a backdrop for the ceremony was accented with white hydrangea in matte gold vases and votive candles in gold mercury glass holders. The bridesmaids' bouquets were repurposed as centerpieces at some of the guest tables by placing them in the same gold vases that were used on the mantel. We also added a large, all-white arrangement on the windowsill on the landing of the grand staircase to welcome guests upstairs. The final look was warm and intimate thanks to all the wonderful vendors involved!
